While surfing the Zwinky.com profile pages, I first stumbled upon a Christina Aguilera zwinky and now one of Paris Hilton. I love how this page included a photo of Paris Hilton on the red carpet and their Zwinky looks exactly like that photo. Very cool! So not only you can create a zwinky to match your own look in real-life. You can also make it look like your favorite or not-so-favorite celebrity. Some of the other more popular celeb impersonations include 50 Cent, Lindsay Lohan & Britney Spears. You can even design your favorites rappers and actors if you want. The possibilities are endless!

In Zwinktopia users can shop for the latest fashions, chat with friends, play games, participate in events, and hang out in their dorm. Each user will be able to earn Zbucks allowing his or her Zwinky to virtually shop at one of many boutiques for clothes, accessories, furniture and other products. Users have already put together more than 10 million outfits to avoid having to wear the same outfit twice.

As any 14-year-old will tell you, the true measure of a pop star’s popularity is how many friends he has on MySpace. And as far as friends goes, megastar rapper 50 Cent’s got plenty of ‘em — more than 908,000. But even 50 knows he’s going to have to harness more than just a well-organized MySpace contingent to top the 1.14 million copies he sold of his last album, “The Massacre,” in 2005.

That’s why he’s taking the interactive aspect of MySpace one step further by becoming a “Zwinky,” a fully-functioning avatar for Zwinky.com. The move coincides with the Sept. 4 release date for his next album, “Curtis,” on Interscope Records. Not only can fans add 50 as their “friend” on Zwinky, they can use his avatar as their own and customize it before hitting various social-networking sites — all the while spreading the word on the new album.

Chris “Broadway” Romero, 50’s manager, said the internet has always been a friend as much as it has been a foe in marketing his client’s music. After files of “The Massacre” leaked onto music-sharing sites before its scheduled release date, Interscope rushed out the album four days ahead of schedule. “It kinda threw things into a frenzy,” Mr. Romero said. “People had nowhere to go to find material, and we didn’t necessarily do any strategic partnerships with online sites. But music is about visibility now, and record companies are on their way to becoming advertising companies — looking forward to where the marketplace is going.”

Apparently 50 Cent is expanding his G-Unit clothing line - by opening an online virtual boutique to sell garments and promote his forthcoming album “Curtis”.

The rapper will join other artists such as rockers Slipknot and The Sex Pistols by launching a store in Zwinktopia, a virtual world with 6.5 million users, who create characters which interact with other inhabitants. They can also purchase virtual clothes and belongings.

According to reports, 50’s creative team are still planning how the store will operate, although the rapper’s merchandise will be available free to users, unlike that of other performers with a presence on the site.

Chris Romero, the star’s creative director of digital media, says, “It’s the equivalent of sending a marketing team to a new country where there is a new economy.”

According to an announcement by IAC Consumer Application and Portals, Kelly Rowland, Lil Mama and a number of other stars will be celebrity hosts at the new virtual amphitheater “Stage-Z,” where a full-day concert will be held July 7th in its virtual world, Zwinktopia. The artists will be appearing on Stage-Z to introduce their music and share tips on how everyone can all cut down on energy use and contribute to a better environment.

Reportedly, the virtual event is expected to broadcast in Zwinktopia, a virtual world for the more than seven million Zwinky avatars worldwide. The event will take place on the same day as Live Earth, a 24-hour, 7-continent series of 9 concerts taking place on July 7th that will bring together more than 100 music artists and 2 billion people to trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis.

“Global warming is an issue that we need to confront, and I am proud to do my part to help today’s teens understand the dire consequences of inaction on this issue,” said Kelly Rowland. “Hosting at Stage-Z in Zwinktopia is an innovative way for me to spread this message to the online community.”

Stage-Z will raise awareness of the global warming epidemic and need for climate control reform.

“An Inconvenient Truth and other events have made people aware of the problem,” Brian Reich, director of New Media for the Alliance for Climate Protection said. “LiveEarth will be a major step in raising public awareness, and we are excited to work with Zwinky because it will serve as a good platform to continue introducing both the urgency of the climate crisis and the solvability of the issue,”

“What better place than Zwinktopia — a virtual world free of environmental concerns — to host an event aimed at helping all of us take the first steps toward improving our own environment,” said Scott Garell, CEO of IAC CAP. “By combining entertainment and technology, we have a unique opportunity to allow artists to connect with their fans while helping to improve the global climate crisis.”

“It’s time for us all to take a serious look at what we’re doing to the environment and figure out how we’re going to fix it,” Teddy Geiger agrees. “Stage Z is a way to bring people together and start talking about things we can do to change the world. This is a great start. I am honored to virtually host this amazing event from Toronto where I am currently filming ‘The Rocker.’”
